Aubrey Glendinning, LPC, CADC

Therapist

When finding out I was pregnant with my first son, I thought I was prepared for motherhood. Of course I knew it would come with challenges, but I figured I would navigate those with ease. The changes that came with my first child turned my world upside down; life changed in a way that I was unprepared for. I lost myself in motherhood, and through my own personal work with a therapist, I was able to find the way back to myself, and acknowledge and accept the new person I was becoming. My own personal postpartum journey is a major catalyst of why I am drawn to this work.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with experience working with children, teens, and adults experiencing trauma, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity and parenting challenges. I am also passionate about providing support to new parents navigating the perinatal and postnatal period.

My approach to therapy is a relational approach, rooted in empathy, compassion and understanding. My goal is that my clients feel self empowered through the work we do together so that they can face challenges head on, through their own strength and abilities. I also incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), art therapy, mindfulness, and strengths based techniques in my work.
