Postpartum OCD & Intrusive Thoughts Are Uniquely Distressing and Disruptive To Daily Life. We Are Here To Help Change That.

Having distressing intrusive thoughts doesn’t make you dangerous or a bad parent. It’s important to understand that while these thoughts can be deeply distressing, they don’t indicate that there is something fundamentally wrong with you. In fact, it’s a common experience, especially among parents dealing with postpartum OCD. While these struggles are widely misunderstood in many areas of our society, at Matrescence Therapy, we understand that highly taboo or disturbing intrusive thoughts are very unwelcome to the sufferer because they attack the things a person values the most in life.

However, there becomes a point where help is needed if it is disruptive to your daily life or robbing you of all the joy in being a parent.

How We Support You In Your Postpartum OCD Journey

Sessions are typically 45-55 minutes long and done from the comfort of your own home. Our therapists are comfortable discussing all things all things parenting young toddlers and children, managing multiple kids, mental health, and more.

Our first session will discuss how you have been feeling lately, and we will learn a little more about you. We will then work together to create a plan to help you start feeling better. You are welcome to have your baby with you during your session.

Signs You Might Benefit from Counseling:

  • Strained Relationships: Intrusive thoughts can cause tension and misunderstandings with family and partners.
