I am immersed in the world of perinatal mental health through my role as a social worker in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I have accompanied countless families through extended NICU journeys, infant loss, miscarriage, stillbirth, and processing how these changes have affected their lives. Adverse birth outcomes and high-risk pregnancies can often feel sudden and overwhelming. Often, families are thrust into a complex world of medical terminology, frequent prenatal or hospital visits, and can struggle with the grief associated with a complex pregnancy or traumatic birth.
My goal is for clients to feel validated, respected, and always be treated with unconditional positive regard. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship with all clients and I aim to create a safe space for emotions to be explored. I believe in focusing on your strengths and centering my approach to your needs and experiences. I have undergone psychotherapy training specific to perinatal mental health. I aim to combine my professional and clinical training to support you in a unique and personal way.
Identities within the perinatal world are always shifting and changing. As a proud Latina, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, acknowledging the interplay between cultural nuances and the transformative journey of motherhood.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that one’s cultural context significantly shapes one’s perinatal experience. With warmth, sensitivity, and connection to my roots, I strive to empower families to embrace their cultural identity as an integral part of their parenthood journey.
If you are looking for a supportive environment as you navigate through your perinatal journey, let’s connect sometime soon.
