Being a mom is undoubtedly my most important role, and very close second to my family, is the dedication and desire to work with women who are exploring and experiencing the role of motherhood. My personal experience with pregnancy and motherhood furthers my passion for working with other women through this transition. I have immensely enjoyed being a clinician during my own journey to motherhood, which includes my 2 elementary school aged children. I feel like going through infertility, miscarriages, unexpected NICU stay, and a challenging “4th trimester” of adjustment to newborn parenting with both of my children, has been an unexpected blessing in the only way possible; in helping me become a more empathic, passionate and dedicated women’s health therapist.

I have worked in the Emergency Room at the former Children’s Memorial Hospital, in the NICU and Maternal Child Social Worker at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, as well as a pediatric Social Worker at Comer Children’s Hospital of University of Chicago.  In addition to working as a therapist at Matrescence Therapy, I work at Northwestern Medicine in the Western Suburbs (Central DuPage Hospital) within Maternal Child Social Work, while raising my growing family.

My goal is for clients to feel heard, respected, and unconditionally supported in their adjustment to parenting. I very much value the time that the women who are taking the time to give themselves an outlet, self-care, and an open forum to be supported by another mother. I am a  clinician who shares the goal in promoting conversations in one of the biggest mental, physical, and emotional adjustments in her lifetime.

As a first generation daughter, wife, and mother from Indian descent; I feel that culture from eastern countries in a western world of motherhood can prove challenging, and I strive to assist in adjusting to this while empowering my clients. We can work together processing the expected, and unexpected challenges and gifts of motherhood.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that it takes an awareness, community, support and guidance to accomplish our goals. With supportive listening, and independent goal setting, sensitivity, and compassion; I hope to make the time that the women I work with something to look forward to, and gain tools to promote healing, growing, and understanding this immeasurable adjustment to the role of pregnancy and parenting.

If you are adjusting to your new role, and would like support through this time in your life, please reach out, and I hope to connect soon.
