Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We are currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO, BCBS Blue Choice, Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, and United Healthcare/Optum plans. We strongly recommend checking with your individual plan to inquire about therapy benefits. You may be responsible for co-payment or other costs. If we are out of network with your provider and you would like to submit through your insurance, we are able to provide you with a receipt (known as a “superbill”). You are then able to submit this to your provider for reimbursement, if your plan provides this type of coverage. You can get an estimate of a reimbursement amount based on your insurance company here.

Why is it important to see a specialist?

Seeing a specialist in therapy services for infertility, pregnancy, maternal mental health, and new fathers/partners is crucial for the healing process and can even save lives by providing:

Targeted Expertise: Specialists offer focused knowledge, aiding the healing process by addressing unique emotional and psychological aspects of these experiences.

Customized Support: Tailored therapy helps individuals and couples process emotions, reducing distress and aiding healing.

Evidence-Based Care: Specialized therapists use proven approaches, ensuring effective support for emotional well-being.

Reduced Stigma: Seeking specialist help reduces stigma, encouraging early intervention that can be life-saving.

Specialists play a vital role in fostering emotional healing and, in some cases, preventing severe emotional distress or crises, making their services potentially life-saving.

What can I expect from the first session?

Your first session will be an opportunity for your therapist to get to know you. You will discuss what you are experiencing and what you are looking for in therapy. You will make a plan together about goals, schedules, and how often you will meet. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long, and it is best to be in a comfortable, private spot if possible.

I'm postpartum. Can I bring my baby to session?

Absolutely! We love seeing babies in sessions. We are perfectly comfortable with breastfeeding/bottle feeding, fussiness, diaper changes, etc. We are moms ourselves, and we are used to kids coming into session via telehealth– it’s perfectly fine to grab them a snack or turn on an iPad. It’s also okay to use the time to focus on yourself  and have someone you trust manage childcare. We will meet you where you are at.

Where are you located?

Our sessions are completely virtual, and we serve anyone who is currently located in Illinois. Our therapists are located throughout the Chicagoland area and the state of Illinois.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify your therapist directly within 24 hours. Without a 24 hour notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $100. Please note that insurance plans will not cover this fee, nor will HSA/FSA cards.

What is the Good Faith Estimate?

By law, according to the No Surprises Act H.R. 133 which went into effect on January 1, 2022, health care providers need to give clients or patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for treatment services. This applies to patient who are paying out of pocket for services.

* This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created.

* You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes (under the law/when applicable) related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

* The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.

* If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. For questions or more information about the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

How does payment work?
