Becoming a parent changes every aspect of your mind and body turning you into a brand new entity that you must learn to know again. I am passionate about mental health during reproductive years, pregnancy, postpartum and parenthood. This is a time in an individual’s life that is often labeled as blissful and exciting, but it can be one of the most challenging transitions a family experiences. This is a time of significant change, and usually involves uncertainty and emotional overwhelm. Those feelings can lead to postpartum depression, anxiety, and other perinatal mood disorders.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my masters degree from Lewis University and completed two clinical internships at a behavioral health hospital working in partial hospitalization treatment programs. I have trained with Postpartum Support International to further my education and understanding how best to help those struggling in parenthood. I have experience conducting group therapy, individual and family/couples’ therapy, and play therapy with children.
I use a combination of therapeutic techniques tailored to each client I work with, as each person’s experience is unique and special. Some of these techniques include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention modalities, Strengths-Based Perspective, Family Systems Theory, Mindfulness, Stress Management, and Breath Work.
I wish to create a secure and welcoming space where healing and processing can occur. I want to be a beacon of hope through your wellness journey. This time is built for a village and I hope to be a support for you. I look forward to meeting you soon!
